Shift Pass Downs / Changing Shifts
You can change work order shift association and pass work orders down to the next shift.
You must be a member of an Access Group with permission to use the Batch Update feature to use this process.
To change work order shift association or pass down to the next shift:

Open the Work Order module.

Click the List button to open the Expanded List.

Use the available search and filter controls to identify work orders requiring a change to a new shift.
For example, you might search for Corrective Work Orders tied to the Day Shift.

Select each work order to be assigned to a new shift.
A check mark appears in the selection box for that work order.

Click the Update button.
The Update window opens, listing the fields from the Work Order module that can be batch updated.

Scroll down to the Shift field and select it.
A control opens at the bottom of the window, allowing you to enter a new value.

Choose between two options:

Enter the desired shift.

Click the field to open the Shift lookup from which a value can be selected.

Click the Apply button.
A dialog box opens, asking you to confirm your choice.

Click the Yes button.
The new shift populates onto the selected work orders and the Expanded Work Order List appears with the updated records still selected.

To change the assignee of these work orders:

Click the Assign button while the updated work orders remain selected.
Note:If you want to assign these work orders to different individuals, you will need to process the different assignments one group at a time.
The Assign Labor window opens.

Click the lookup control to the right of the Assign To label.
The Labor Resources module lookup opens.

Locate the labor resource you want to assign.
For example, you might filter to labor records assigned to the Night Shift.

Select the labor resource you want to assign.

Click the Apply button.
The Assigned Labor window opens with the new individual listed.

Enter the assignment date and hours, then indicate whether the individual should be the Assigned Lead or Assigned PDA User.

Indicate whether or not existing assignments for these work orders should be removed.
This control is typically used when the new assignment is intended to replace any existing assignments.

Click the Apply button.
The assignments are created and either the Expanded List or the Search page appears.
